Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rihla application and website (collectively, "the Service"), operated by Sawt Tech & Marketing LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), registered in the Sultanate of Oman.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Rihla Provides

Rihla is an AI-powered group travel planning platform. It allows users to generate trip itineraries, share plans with travel companions, track group expenses, and communicate via group chat. Features are available on iOS, Android, and the web at rihla-app.com.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• One account per person. You may not share accounts or create accounts on behalf of others without permission.
• You agree to provide accurate information when registering.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Free tier

Rihla offers a free tier with limited trip creation and revision allowances. Free users may also see advertisements.

3.2 Paid plans

Premium plans unlock unlimited trip creation, AI revisions, and ad-free use. Current pricing is listed at rihla-app.com/pricing.

3.3 Billing

• Annual Pass: billed once per year and automatically renews on the anniversary date unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Single Trip: a one-time, non-recurring purchase.
• Payments made via the Rihla website are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com, Inc.), our authorised Merchant of Record. Paddle may appear as the merchant on your bank or card statement.
• Payments made via the iOS App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google respectively under their standard payment terms.

3.4 Cross-platform access

A premium subscription purchased on the website grants equivalent access in the iOS and Android apps, and vice versa, when you are signed in with the same account.

4. Refund Policy

4.1 Website purchases (via Paddle)

• If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@rihla-app.com within 7 days of the charge with your order number (found in the receipt email from Paddle).
• We will review your request and, at our discretion, issue a full refund if the purchase was clearly made in error or if the Service was unavailable at the time of purchase.
• Refunds are not available after 7 days or once the premium features have been substantially used.
• Annual subscriptions that have already auto-renewed are not eligible for a refund for the renewed period. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.

4.2 App Store and Google Play purchases

Purchases made through the iOS App Store or Google Play are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies respectively. We have no authority to process refunds for those transactions — please contact Apple or Google directly.

4.3 How to cancel an annual subscription

• Website subscription: email support@rihla-app.com and we will cancel your renewal immediately.
• App Store subscription: go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
• Google Play subscription: go to Google Play → Subscriptions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Use the AI features to generate content unrelated to travel planning, or to produce harmful, illegal, or deceptive content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce the Service.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through group chat features.
• Share content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

6. Your Content

Content you create (trip plans, messages, photos, documents) remains yours. By uploading content to the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it to you and your designated trip companions. We do not share your content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. AI-Generated Content

Trip itineraries and suggestions are generated by AI (Google Gemini). They are provided for planning purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of opening hours, prices, availability, or travel requirements. Always verify critical travel information with official sources before travelling.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sawt Tech & Marketing LLC and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated itineraries.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Muscat, Oman.
